Family Welfare Authority/an integrated system of social and psychological services
ABU DHABI, 10 JULY / WAM / The Family Welfare Authority of the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi continues its efforts aimed at enhancing family stability and empowering community members through an integrated system of social, psychological and family services, based on prevention, early intervention and providing specialized support, in line with the goals of the “Year of the Family 2026” and the “National Agenda for Family Growth 2031”.
The Authority is working to develop and expand its services to be accessible to various segments of society in various regions of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, through programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing family cohesion, raising the quality of life, and enabling individuals to face social and psychological challenges in a supportive and safe environment.
Dr. Alia Al Jasmi, Director of the Care Homes Department at the Family Welfare Authority, confirmed in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that the family represents the foundation for building a cohesive and sustainable society, as it adopts a comprehensive approach based on prevention and early intervention as they are among the most important tools that contribute to enhancing family and community stability.
She explained that the Authority works to provide specialized services that respond to the needs of families and individuals at various stages, including psychological and family counseling and guidance, awareness and empowerment programs, and care and containment services, in addition to initiatives aimed at enhancing life skills and establishing a culture of dialogue and positive communication within society.
She added that early intervention constitutes an essential part of the Authority’s work model, as it contributes to addressing challenges before they escalate and enhances the ability to overcome them effectively, which reflects positively on the stability of the family and the quality of life of its members.
Al Jasmi stressed that investing in the family represents a fundamental pillar for the future of society, and that empowering and supporting it remains one of the most important ways to build a more stable and cohesive social fabric capable of achieving sustainable development.
The Authority is keen to provide its services according to the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality, ensuring that beneficiaries receive appropriate support in a safe and stimulating environment, given that easy access to services represents a major priority within its plans to serve the community and enhance its well-being.
The Authority continues to expand the scope of its services in various regions of the emirate, ensuring that support reaches families wherever they are, and reflects its commitment to meeting the needs of society and enhancing the opportunities for all individuals to obtain appropriate care and services near their places of residence.
The Authority works continuously with its partners to develop initiatives and programs that contribute to enhancing cohesion and consolidating the values of solidarity and shared responsibility, out of its belief that the success of efforts aimed at enhancing societal stability requires an effective partnership between the family, community institutions, and concerned parties.
