5 measures to protect parked vehicles before travelling, the most prominent of which is avoiding deserted lots

Dubai Municipality called on community members not to leave vehicles neglected in public places during periods of travel or long absences, especially with the start of summer vacation and annual holidays, and to adhere to five measures to protect their vehicles, the most prominent of which is not to park in deserted or sandy squares, stressing that preserving the civilized appearance of the emirate is a shared responsibility that begins with awareness and is translated into adherence to instructions.
The fine for a neglected vehicle is 500 dirhams, in addition to the transportation and reservation fees incurred according to the approved procedures.
The municipality has identified seven preventive guidelines to ensure safe swimming for children, with the increasing demand for home swimming pools during the summer, the most prominent of which is that parents should not be busy with the phone while children are swimming and the necessity of constant monitoring.
In detail, Dubai Municipality confirmed that leaving vehicles for long periods without maintenance or follow-up, especially during the summer vacation and annual holidays, reflects negatively on the cultural and aesthetic landscape of the city, stressing that maintaining Dubai’s clean environment is a partnership and a societal responsibility that is not limited to official bodies only, but rather requires the commitment of all members of society, which expresses the awareness and culture of its residents.
Through its digital platforms, it called on vehicle owners traveling outside the country during the summer to follow five specific procedures to deal with their vehicles before traveling, including not leaving the vehicle for a long period without maintenance or follow-up, making sure to assign someone to clean it continuously to avoid the accumulation of dust during the vacation period, covering the vehicle with an appropriate cover to protect it from dust and weather factors, parking it in designated and safe places, and avoiding leaving it in deserted yards or sandy areas that accelerate its dirtiness.
She stressed that adherence to these guidelines contributes to enhancing an integrated civilized environment that reflects the quality of life in Dubai, and also spares vehicle owners from exposure to violations and legal procedures resulting from violating applicable regulations and instructions.
Field teams work to monitor and remove abandoned vehicles wherever they are found, whether on roads, public parking lots, or sand squares, according to a continuous work program throughout the year. The municipality also implements field programs and community awareness campaigns to limit the spread of abandoned vehicles and equipment in public places in a way that distorts the appearance of the city.
According to the established procedures, the mechanism for dealing with abandoned vehicles and equipment begins with field teams monitoring them, documenting all their information and data in the smart system, and then sending a warning to the vehicle owner for a period ranging between three and 15 days depending on the condition of the vehicle and its location. If the vehicle carries a registration plate issued by the Emirate of Dubai, the municipality sends a text message (SMS) to the phone number of the vehicle owner registered with the Roads and Transport Authority to inform him of the warning.
If the causes of the violation are not removed or the vehicle is moved after the specified period, it will be included in the removal program in cooperation with the Emirates Parking Company, where it will be transported to the company’s impoundment yard in the Al Aweer area.
Dubai Municipality imposes a fine of 500 dirhams on abandoned vehicles, which is collected upon reviewing the vehicle owner or his representative to receive it, in addition to the vehicle transportation and impoundment fees, which vary according to the type of vehicle, its weight, and the length of time it remains in the impoundment yard. Additional fees may also be imposed in cases that require the use of special mechanisms or equipment for the transportation process, in addition to daily fees for the impoundment period until the vehicle is received.
Dubai Municipality emphasized that adherence to vehicle guidelines, especially during the holiday and travel season, contributes to preserving the emirate’s civilized appearance, limits distortion of the public landscape, and ensures the safety of vehicles and their owners avoiding fines and fees resulting from leaving them neglected in public places.
As part of its awareness campaigns during the summer season, Dubai Municipality has identified seven important guidelines and preventive measures to enhance the safety of children in home swimming pools, stressing that children’s safety is a priority and a responsibility that requires vigilance and adherence to preventive measures inside home swimming pools to protect them, especially with the increasing demand for home swimming during the summer vacation.
She explained that these guidelines include constant supervision of children while swimming by an adult and not being distracted by the phone or any other distractions, securing the pool area and closing it safely and tightly when not in use, providing appropriate safety barriers around swimming pools, educating children to avoid unsafe behaviors such as random jumping, unsafe diving, running and jostling, performing regular maintenance work for home swimming pools, regularly checking the levels of materials used to sterilize the water, and not approaching drainage and suction openings to avoid high suction power that may cause water damage. Drowning accidents or serious injuries, while providing an emergency shut-off switch when needed.
• AED 500 fine for a neglected vehicle, in addition to transportation and reservation fees.
