المملكة: China… intensive tourism activity to enhance partnerships in artificial intelligence and the digital economy


Hold Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha A series of meetings in the Republic of China People’s Republic of China with government and executive leaders, to discuss partnership prospects in Artificial intelligence, the digital economy, technology transfer, space, and emerging technologies, in a way that enhances the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The meetings were attended by the Governor of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, Eng. Haitham Al-Ohali, and Eng. The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the People’s Republic of China, Abdul Rahman Ahmed Al-Harbi

Enhancing cooperation in artificial intelligence

Al-Sawaha met with the Minister of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, Yin Hejun, and the two sides discussed enhancing cooperation in artificial intelligence and the digital economy, technology transfer, and talent exchange programs, in addition to expanding the presence of major Chinese technology companies in the Kingdom.
In the space sector, the Minister of Communications met with Dr. Shan Zhongde, Head of the Chinese National Space Administration and Deputy Minister of Industry and Information Technology, discussed opportunities for cooperation in space technologies, expanding areas of partnership in innovation, and developing capabilities related to the sector.
He also met with the executive management of Moonshot AI, the developer of the Kimi LLM model, and discussed the development of major linguistic models and generative technologies supported by artificial intelligence, in addition to technology transfer and marketing, in a way that supports the growth of the digital economy and emerging technologies in the Kingdom.

The Minister of Communications also met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ByteDance China. Lidong Chang, and discussed cooperation in generative artificial intelligence and data centers, developing major algorithms and linguistic models, and expanding the company’s presence in the Kingdom, which contributes to developing the technical innovation system and enhancing the competitiveness of the digital economy.

Attracting advanced technologies and investments

These meetings come as an extension of the Kingdom’s efforts to build qualitative international partnerships, attract advanced technologies and investments, develop national capabilities, and enhance its global presence in the fields of technology, artificial intelligence, and space.
