“Golden rings studded with diamonds.” FIFA announces an exceptional prize for the winner of the 2026 World Cup.

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced the creation of a new and unprecedented tradition in the history of the World Cup, which consists of awarding players of the team crowned with the title of “2026 World Cup Champion” with commemorative gold rings, for the first time since the start of the tournament in 1930.

FIFA said on its official website: “All members of the winning team will receive official rings made of high-purity gold and studded with diamonds to commemorate the historic achievement.”

The International Federation also explained that the captain of the winning team and his technical director will receive two temporary rings after the final match, to commemorate the coronation moment, and 30 rings will be manufactured and allocated to the rest of the delegation members later, ensuring their perfect suitability for each winner and their delivery at a later date.

This decision comes in conjunction with the preparations for the final match of the 2026 World Cup, which brings together the national teams of Argentina and Spain.

The Argentina national team had qualified for the final, after defeating England in the World Cup semi-final match, while the Spain national team reserved its place in the final match, after its victory over France.

The final match between Spain and Argentina is scheduled to be held next Sunday, at 11 pm UAE time, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, USA.
