To enhance traffic flow, Abu Dhabi expands the E20 road in Khalifa City

The Department of Municipalities and Transport is implementing an integrated project to expand the E20 Road in Khalifa City and the areas surrounding Zayed International Airport, with the aim of raising the efficiency of the road network and enhancing the flow of traffic.

The project work includes expanding the road from three to five lanes, constructing 10.5 kilometers of ramps and new traffic loops, four new bridges, and developing green spaces along the road, by transporting and replanting trees in a way that contributes to preserving the environment and promoting sustainability.

The scope of the project extends to Khalifa City, with the construction of 1.5 kilometers of new internal roads and eight intersections equipped with light signals, with the aim of enhancing traffic safety and regulating vehicle movement.

The project includes implementing 62 km of rainwater drainage networks, 37 km of irrigation networks, installing 485 new lighting units, in addition to developing basic facilities and services.
