"Emirates Chess" He announces the success of his new development initiatives
Fujairah, July 18 / WAM / The Emirates Chess Federation announced the success of its new development initiatives in the Emirates Individual Championship for the age groups under 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20, open and women, which is currently being held at the Fujairah Chess and Culture Club, with the participation of 152 male and female players.
He stressed that the tournament witnessed an organizational precedent for the first time, by implementing internationally approved fair play procedures, preventing the entry of electronic devices and mobile phones, and obtaining a random sample of some matches daily, to verify the absence of the use of artificial intelligence to assist players.
The Federation also revealed the provision of direct electronic transmission to all playing tables, and a hall equipped with a giant screen that allowed parents and coaches to follow all matches moment by moment, without affecting the conduct of competitions inside the playing hall.
Dr. Abdullah Ali Al Barakat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fujairah Chess and Culture Club, confirmed that the club’s hosting of the UAE Individual Championship was an extension of its mission to support and develop the game, and to strengthen the position of the Emirate of Fujairah as an international sports center capable of hosting the largest chess events in accordance with the highest organizational standards, praising the federation’s professional efforts to develop the tournaments.
He also praised the federation’s strategy in cooperating with the clubs and giving them confidence to host events, which contributes to supporting joint efforts to advance the game and provide model tournaments worthy of the reputation of chess in the UAE, noting the participation of more than 30 players from the club in the tournament in various age groups.
