As the protests continue, Zelensky hints at possible changes in the army
The Ukrainian president hinted Volodymyr Zelensky Saturday referred to possible changes in the army, while rare wartime protests rocked the country for the third day in rejection of the resignation of the Defense Minister.
Mykhailo Fedorov (35 years old), a minister who led efforts to use Drones and military reform, his resignation earlier this week as part of a controversial cabinet reshuffle carried out by Zelensky.
The demonstrations came as the president held two-day meetings with senior military commanders, amid media speculation that he might look for a replacement for army chief Oleksandr Sersky.
Anti-government protests
Zelensky said in his evening speech. "There were many consultations yesterday and today. Of course I hear what people are saying"adding that he spoke with both Sersky and Fedorov.. He added "Decisions regarding the army will be formulated"
In Kiev, an AFP correspondent saw demonstrators clapping, banging and chanting cardboard signs that became a symbol of anti-government protests last summer. "shame" and"Fedorov"
In his first reaction to the protests, Fedorov wrote on the Telegram application "Thank you for the hope"he continued "There is a dialogue. I think things will go well".
