Araqchi admits: I have not met Mojtaba Khamenei yet

The Iranian Foreign Minister admitted Abbas Araghchi that he had not met Iranian Guide Mojtaba Khamenei until now, saying that he does not believe that anyone has seen him at the current stage except a very limited number of people.

These statements come at a time when Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared in public since his appointment as the third guide of the Iranian regime, and he has not published any audio or video message, while the messages attributed to him are limited to written statements since he was injured in the attack in which his father and predecessor Ali Khamenei was killed, last February.

Araqchi said that decisions regarding negotiations with the United States were not made within the full Supreme National Security Council

He also explained that this committee was taking decisions at the time due to the difficulty of communicating with the senior leadership, noting that all files related to the negotiations were passing through it according to the same procedures approved within the Supreme National Security Council.

He added that the committee was formed after the 12-Day War, and at the beginning it was a committee concerned with the nuclear file headed by Ali Shamkhani, before it later turned into a negotiation committee headed by Ali Larijani.
