The head of the National Anti-Narcotics Agency reviews the efforts of the National Guard in enhancing security and honors a number of its members
ABU DHABI, 24 JULY / WAM / His Excellency Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National Anti-Narcotics Agency, in the presence of His Excellency Major General Saleh Mohammed bin Mejren Al Ameri, Commander of the National Guard, honored a number of members of the Coast Guard Group, in appreciation of their excellence in performing their duties, and their ability to arrest a group of narcotic smugglers, during his visit to the Coast Guard Group in the National Guard.
His Excellency praised the vigilance and professionalism shown by the members in performing their duties, which reflects the high readiness and efficiency of the National Guard members, and embodies their pivotal role in protecting the state’s borders, confronting smuggling attempts, enhancing society’s security and stability, and preserving its capabilities and gains from everything that threatens its security and safety.
During the visit, His Excellency was briefed on the most prominent tasks and specializations of the Coast Guard Group, and the role it plays in protecting the country’s maritime borders, and supporting the national drug control system, by implementing security and field operations, confronting attempts to smuggle narcotic substances, enhancing readiness, and continuous coordination with the concerned authorities, in a way that contributes to maintaining the security and stability of society.
