Saqr Ghobash and Nawaf Salam discuss strengthening Emirati-Lebanese relations and joint Arab cooperation

The Speaker of the Federal National Council, Saqr Ghobash, met today in Beirut with the Prime Minister of the sisterly Lebanese Republic, Nawaf Salam, at the headquarters of the Prime Minister.

During the meeting, they discussed the fraternal relations between the UAE and the Lebanese Republic, and ways to enhance cooperation in a way that serves the common interests of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, in addition to exchanging views on a number of issues of common interest, and emphasizing the importance of continuing coordination and consultation in a way that supports joint Arab action and enhances security and stability in the region.

Nawaf Salam stressed that Lebanon’s connection to its Arab depth constitutes an essential foundation for enhancing the process of recovery and prosperity, noting that deepening Arab cooperation contributes to enhancing the ability of Arab countries to achieve security and stability and safeguard the interests of their people, which reflects the importance of joint Arab action in confronting challenges and achieving development.

The meeting comes within the framework of the joint keenness to strengthen fraternal relations between the UAE and the Lebanese Republic, and to consolidate the approach of consultation and coordination regarding issues of common interest, which reflects the UAE’s commitment to supporting joint Arab action, and its belief in the importance of unifying efforts to promote stability and development, and to support everything that achieves the interests of the Arab peoples and keeps pace with their aspirations for a more prosperous future.
