المملكة: “Dangerous escalation”… widespread Arab condemnation of attempts to target Saudi oil facilities

The Arab Republic of Egypt condemned in the strongest terms the targeting of oil installations in the eastern region of the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the attacks that targeted the sister Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which represent unacceptable attacks on the sovereignty of states and civil and vital installations, a flagrant violation of international law, and a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region, and undermines global energy security.
Egypt affirmed its full solidarity with both sisterly Saudi Arabia and Jordan, and its full support for all the measures they take to preserve their security and stability and protect their sovereignty and vital installations, reiterating its categorical rejection of all attacks that target civilian installations and vital infrastructure or affect the security and sovereignty of Arab countries.

Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs

In the same context, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the repeated sinful terrorist attempts to target petroleum installations in the eastern region of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which were carried out by terrorist militias affiliated with Iran using drones that launched again from Iraqi territory, considering this a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability, a blatant violation of the principles of good neighborliness and the rules of international law, and a blatant defiance of the Security Council resolution. No. (2817), undermining efforts aimed at reducing the escalation in the region.
The Ministry affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s full solidarity with the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its absolute support for all measures it takes to protect its sovereignty, security and stability, including its right to respond to sources of aggression and deter aggressors, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and the provisions of international law, and the Joint Defense Agreement of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, and the Kingdom of Bahrain’s standing by its side in any response it decides, based on the deep-rooted historical fraternal ties between my leadership and my people. The two brotherly countries, the unity of blood and common destiny, and affirming that the security and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are an integral part of the national security of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the collective security of the GCC countries.
At the same time, the Ministry praised the efficiency and high alertness of the Saudi air defenses in intercepting the drones and destroying them before they reached their goals, which contributed to protecting civilians and preserving vital installations.

Condemning the State of Kuwait

For its part, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the continued exposure of the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to attacks by Iranian-affiliated militias in Iraq, which reflects the insistence of those militias to continue escalation and destabilize the security and stability of the region, the most recent of which was the blatant aggression by launching drones in a miserable attempt to target oil facilities in the Eastern Province yesterday evening, in what is considered a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a threat to its security. And the integrity of its territories, at a time when the Kingdom is making sincere efforts to contribute to ending the escalation in the region.
The Ministry renewed Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with the Kingdom, its support for all measures it takes to protect its security, sovereignty, interests and capabilities, including its inherent right to self-defense, which is guaranteed by international law under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, stressing that the Kingdom’s security is an integral part of the security of the State of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

Violation of international law

In turn, the State of Qatar strongly condemned the attacks that attempted to target oil facilities in the eastern region of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with drones coming from Iraqi territory, and considers them a blatant violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and a threat to its security, stability and territorial integrity, and a flagrant violation of international law, the Charter of the United Nations, and the principles of good neighborliness.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the State of Qatar’s full solidarity with the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its support for all legitimate measures it takes to preserve its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
