A bus crashed on Sunday evening near a ski resort in southern France, killing two people and injuring at least 33, local authorities said.
There were 47 people, including the driver, on board the bus when it crashed near the Port Puymorenes ski resort, the regional administration said. Seven people were taken to hospital in critical condition for treatment.

Preliminary investigation

Local authorities said that a preliminary investigation showed that the bus collided with a cliff, but the exact circumstances of the accident were not immediately clear.
Pictures published by the fire service showed that the bus collided with the edge of a cliff, its right side was partially destroyed, and its windshield fell.
More than 120 individuals participated in the rescue efforts, including elements from the neighboring Spanish region of Catalonia and Andorra, and helicopters were also deployed.
Catalonia’s emergency services said on the social networking site X that the bus originally moved from the town of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat outside the Spanish city of Barcelona.
