Commencement of construction work on a new mosque in Deira Al-Uyoun in Diyar Al-Muharraq

Diyar Al Muharraq, the largest real estate development company in the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced the start of construction work on the West Deira Al Oyoun Mosque, at the expense of Mr. Mohammed Al Mannai, which is distinguished by a design that reflects the splendor, authenticity and long history of the Arab-Islamic urban heritage. Work on this project began this November, and the mosque is expected to be inaugurated and opened in the first quarter of 2026.

The mosque will extend over a building area of ​​approximately more than 1,200 square metres, providing adequate capacity to receive more than 620 worshippers. It will also include a women’s prayer hall that can accommodate more than 80 people. Through the inauguration of this mosque, Diyar Al Muharraq hopes to serve more than 2,100 residential units in the Deerat Al Oyoun area and its environs, as the launch of this project ensures facilitating the access of the region’s residents and visitors to the houses of God and performing religious rituals with ease.

On this occasion, Mr. Ahmed Al Emadi, CEO of Diyar Al Muharraq, said: “We are moving forward with the completion of such important projects that include the reconstruction of the houses of God, out of our awareness of the importance of strengthening the religious values ​​rooted in our identity and relying on them to build society and develop the bonds of its individuals. From this standpoint, We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to Mr. Muhammad Al-Mannai for his generous donation to build a new mosque in the west of Deir Al-Uyoun, which comes in response to the needs of the residents and visitors of the region. In continuation of the approach we are taking in constructing mosques and other facilities through which the elements of interconnected communities are integrated, which we consider an integral part of our institutional goal to create a modern, integrated model city.”

Diyar Al Muharraq has appointed Tammam Contracting Company to carry out the contracting tasks for the project, Arab Architects Company for design services, and Horizon Interiors Company to supervise interior design affairs.
