المملكة: “Sdaya” extends participation in the “Smarter U” competition to build the capabilities of university students

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has extended participation in the National Artificial Intelligence Competition (Smarter U), which it organizes in partnership with Microsoft. With the aim of providing the opportunity for Saudi male and female students from various universities in the Kingdom to actively participate in the competition and raise their level of knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence to become competitive with their counterparts in the world.
The “Smarter U” competition aims to develop students’ skills in the fields of artificial intelligence and enhance their personal and practical capabilities, in an effort to discover talented people and enable them to compete globally in Microsoft’s global “Imagine Cup” competition and provide opportunities to transform their ideas into innovative solutions based on artificial intelligence technologies.

“Smartest U” competition

In view of the volume of competition witnessed by the Kingdom’s universities among its male and female students to enter this national competition, Sdaya decided to extend the end date of the first phase of the competition, which began on November 24, to December 10, instead of the previous date, so that 84 teams would qualify.

The second stage will begin on December 11 and continue until January 5, in which the contestants will compete according to the criteria of the (Smartest U) and (Imagine Cup) competitions, and 30 teams will qualify for the final stage. In the final stage, which will be held from January 12 to 13, they will compete for… Top places and winners honored in Smartest U.S.

National capacity building

The winning teams are scheduled to qualify to participate in the 2025 Imagine Cup competition at the global level in the American city of Seattle, with the winners from the various countries participating in the world title.
Through its partnership with Microsoft, Sdaya aims to invest this competition in building national capabilities in the Kingdom’s universities to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and provide them with advanced knowledge in the field of data and artificial intelligence in order to establish a generation capable of dealing with the developments of these advanced technologies and benefiting from them in various ways.
