Mohammed bin Rashid Library enhances the UAE’s cultural presence at the Cairo Book Fair

Cairo, January 20, 2020 – The Mohammed bin Rashid Library is participating for the first time in the 57th Cairo International Book Fair, which is held under the slogan “Whoever stops reading for an hour will be left behind for centuries” in the period from January 21 to February 3, 2026 at the Egypt International Exhibition and Conference Center, in confirmation of its commitment to strengthening the UAE’s presence in Arab and international cultural forums.
Through its platform, the library displays its integrated services, modern facilities, and its latest initiatives and knowledge publications, reflecting its vision of empowering knowledge, enhancing cultural exchange, and examining opportunities for cooperation with publishing houses and knowledge institutions.
Dr. Mohammed Salem Al Mazrouei, a member of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, said in a statement to “WAM” that this participation stems from the library’s vision of consolidating the cultural and knowledge presence of the UAE in an event that is considered one of the largest and most prestigious book fairs in the region, noting that the current session is witnessing exceptional momentum in terms of the volume of participation and the diversity of content.
He added that the pivotal position that the Arab Republic of Egypt occupies in the Arab cultural scene makes this participation an extension of the library’s strategy aimed at building sustainable cultural partnerships and expanding the circle of access to qualitative knowledge content in a way that supports reading and enhances cultural dialogue.
The library is participating with a group of its latest publications that address societal culture, environmental awareness, and space science, and reflect the UAE’s vision of building humanity and linking scientific development with societal responsibility.
The library highlights the “A World in Your Language” initiative, which employs artificial intelligence techniques to make it possible to read and listen to books in ten international languages. About 1,100 users benefited from it, and the site recorded more than 5,000 visits from different countries.
