Text of President Sisi’s speech at the press conference with the Prime Minister of Denmark

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, with Metta Frederiksen, Prime Minister of Denmark, as part of the president’s state visit to Denmark.
The two sides held a discussion session with the participation of the delegations of the two countries. They also signed the declaration of strategic partnership between Egypt and Denmark, and witnessed the signing of memorandums of understanding between the two countries in a number of Fields.
The two sides held a press conference to discuss the results of the discussions between the President and the Prime Minister of Denmark. The following is the text of the President’s speech during the press conference:

Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Denmark,
Attendance Your Honor,
I would like, at the beginning, to express my great happiness…to be in this beautiful, historical city " Copenhagen" …which represents my first stop… on my tour to the countries of Northern Europe… in the first visit of its kind… since the beginning of diplomatic relations between the two countries… on June 1, 1922.

I cannot fail to praise the warm reception and generous hospitality I have experienced since my arrival in the Kingdom of Denmark, which reflects the authenticity of this civilized country, as it confirms. The sincere desire to strengthen the partnership between our two countries… and fruitful cooperation between them, on a common basis of mutual respect and understanding… to achieve mutual benefit.
Ladies and Gentlemen,< /p>
My meeting with His Excellency the Prime Minister… and the expanded discussions in the presence of the two delegations… witnessed a common understanding to advance bilateral relations in various fields: political Economic, investment and cultural… as crystallized in the signing of the joint declaration, to raise relations to the level of strategic partnership… and the launch of the Egyptian-Danish Business Council… as well as the signing of a number of memorandums of understanding.
I and His Excellency the Prime Minister agreed… on the importance of implementing the axes of the joint declaration… which will contribute to advancing all frameworks of cooperation between… The two countries in all fields, most notably: maritime transport, energy and green transformation, health and scientific research, investment, agriculture, tourism, communications and information technology, combating illegal immigration and terrorism, and combating poverty and desertification.
I take this opportunity to express my appreciation… for Denmark’s understanding and support for Egypt, to preserve its water security… with the existential priority it represents… in In light of the severe water scarcity that Egypt suffers from. The joint… is strongly present during our discussions today, most notably the Palestinian issue… where it reviewed the tireless Egyptian efforts… to immediately stop the war in the Gaza Strip… and stressed the importance of concerted efforts… to prevent the region from sliding into confrontation. A wide regional region… and the importance of establishing a sovereign Palestinian state… on the lines of June 4, 1967, with “East Jerusalem” as its capital… as the cornerstone, for achieving security and stability in the region.
We also touched on the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip… and stressed the necessity of full, safe and sustainable access to humanitarian aid, without conditions or restrictions. Obstacles… and reviewed the Egyptian efforts made in this regard… the most recent of which was the ministerial conference held in Cairo on December 2nd… in cooperation with the United Nations, to mobilize the humanitarian response to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
We discussed Also the situation in Lebanon… where we welcomed the reaching of a ceasefire agreement in Lebanon… and stressed the importance of this being reflected in the start of the de-escalation phase in the region… Through the full implementation of Security Council Resolution No. “1701”…
and enabling the Lebanese army to extend its control over the entire Lebanese territory.
Our discussions witnessed Also, a review of the recent developments related to the situation in Syria and Sudan, the security of the Red Sea, and the Ukrainian crisis… where there was consensus in visions… on the necessity Make all efforts… to find diplomatic solutions to all these crises… and the necessity of respecting the sovereignty of countries, their institutions and official bodies… and combating terrorism therein.

Once again, I extend my sincere thanks to you… for inviting me to visit the friendly Kingdom of Denmark… and I look forward to welcoming you to Egypt… in a way that contributes to consolidating… The extended bonds of friendship that unite our peoples and our countries.
