المملكة: King Faisal University is first in the Gulf in the World English Olympiad

The English Language Club student team in the English Language Department at the College of Arts at King Faisal University won third place internationally and first in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf in the World English Language Olympiad for Universities 2024, which is organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with Massa International Testing Company in Jordan, for the first time for universities during the period from 5-7/12/2024 under the title: National Heritage, with the participation of 57 teams from 24 university educational institutions.
The Dean of the College of Arts, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Saud Al-Halibi, explained that this qualitative international participation of students comes within the framework of the university administration’s efforts to support the refinement of students’ leadership and entrepreneurial capabilities and skills, and their acquisition of teamwork skills, community service, and scientific research, and employing them in a way that enhances their excellence at the academic and professional levels.

Comprehensive excellence

The team was represented in this international competition by Dr. Hajar bint Khalifa Al-Sultan, and the students: Fatima Al-Zar’ah, Latifa Al-Juwaiser, Zainab Al-Qattan, Sarah Al-Duwairaj, and Alaa Al-Khufi.
The team achieved excellence in all the main themes of the Olympics, which included: theatrical performance, project, English language test, local community service, and teamwork.
The participation aimed to confirm the close connection to the cultural heritage of ancient handicrafts, and their importance and dimensions to the current generation.
