Hamdan bin Mubarak participates in the extraordinary FIFA Congress
Dubai, December 12 / WAM / His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, President of the Emirates Football Association, participated in the extraordinary Congress of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), which was held yesterday, via video communication technology, in the presence of Gianni Infantino and the presidents of the 211 national federations. In his speech, Gianni Infantino spoke about the power of football that unites everyone, pointing out that it is a unique social phenomenon that bridges distances between all parts of the world in a peaceful, fun and mutual respect manner.
Infantino pointed to the successes achieved by the World Cup tournaments in Qatar 2022, and the Women’s World Cup 2023 hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
FIFA officially announced yesterday during the meeting that Morocco, Spain and Portugal had won the bid to host the 2030 World Cup, and that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would host the 2034 World Cup.
It was announced that the next 75th Congress will be held in Paraguay on May 15, 2025.
