"guidance" Supports the Office of the National Security Adviser of Nigeria to strengthen the fight against extremism

Abu Dhabi, December 12 / WAM / The Hedayah International Center of Excellence in Countering Extremism and Violent Extremism hosted five representatives from the Office of the Nigerian National Security Adviser with the aim of supporting the Office in reviewing, designing and implementing the policy framework and national action plan to prevent and combat violent extremism in Nigeria.

Hosting representatives of the Office of the Nigerian National Security Adviser marks the beginning of cooperation between the two sides to review and support the implementation of the National Strategy and Action Plan to Counter and Prevent Violent Extremism in Nigeria through training on tailored capacity building programs and sharing best practices.
This cooperation with the Office of the National Security Adviser in Nigeria is based on the foundations laid by the Hedayah Center through ongoing work to support rehabilitation and reintegration efforts in Nigeria.

Over several years, the Hedayah Center has worked to strengthen efforts to combat extremism and violent extremism in Nigeria by supporting families affected by extremism, providing mentoring, and establishing a national team of trainers who are able to transfer the knowledge and skills provided by the program to other practitioners and stakeholders.
The Hedayah International Center for Excellence in Combating Extremism and Violent Extremism expressed its gratitude to the European Union for facilitating this cooperation and making this partnership possible, and also expressed its sincere appreciation to the UAE, which hosts the Hedayah Center and is the headquarters of its global operations.
