Muhanna explains in his weekly lesson at the Ibn Ata Allah Alexandria Mosque the importance of politeness in getting close to God

His Eminence Dr. Muhammad Muhanna, Professor of Sharia and Law at Al-Azhar University and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the House of Muhammad, stressed the importance of being polite in transactions, in seeking knowledge, and in being close to God.

He said In his weekly lesson at the Sidi Ibn Ata Allah Alexandria Mosque, while explaining the book Taj Al-Arous, which contains the refinement of souls, what helps with politeness is sitting in the hands of saints and righteous people, because in sitting Sociability  And the closer a person becomes to God, the more he must increase his etiquette, because abandoning good manners leads to expulsion. Whoever misbehaves on the carpet will be returned to the door, and whoever misbehaves at the door will be returned to the behavior of animals. That is why they said: If he sits you on the carpet, beware of being relaxed, for the closer you are to him. It increased politeness, fear, reverence, and reverence. Sin in closeness is not the same as sin in distance. (O wives of the Prophet, you are not like any of Women: If you fear Allah, then do not be submissive in speech, lest he in whose heart is sickness become greedy, and speak a reasonable word.) (O wives of the Prophet, who among you will come For a clear indecency, the punishment for her will be multiplied twofold. And that is easy for God.) It was reported on the authority of Ibn al-Mubarak that he said: We are more in need of a little manners than we are of a lot of knowledge. And he is deprived of the deprivation of the blessing of the people of his time because he lost their companionship and harmony.

He continued: Our Sheikh Muhammad Zaki al-Din Ibrahim, the pioneer of the Muhammadiyah clan – may God have mercy on him – used to say: The basis of the path is the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the spirit of The path is in etiquette, and the secret of the path is in love. He who has no love, he who has no secret has no manners, and he who has no manners has no path. And when our master Moses asked for knowledge from our master Al-Khidr, he guided him. On etiquette, and Al-Mursi Abu Al-Abbas said: Among the signs of a servant’s success are three: righteous deeds entering upon you without you intending to do them, averting sins from you while striving for them, and opening the door of resorting to God Almighty and seeking Him in all circumstances.

Dr. Muhanna explained that success is something unseen, but it has apparent signs, including that God will help you to do good without striving to do so, and that among the signs of disappointment is that obedience fails you despite striving. In it, sins enter upon you while you flee from them, closing the door of resorting to God Almighty, and leaving the door of supplication in all circumstances.

Dr. added. It is implied that every time has etiquette, and for this reason the saints know the rights of the times, as Al-Mursi Abu Al-Abbas said, the times of the servant are four and not a fifth, either in obedience or in disobedience, or in a blessing or in a calamity, and every time has a right. Dr. urged. Muhanna emphasized seizing the times, saying: If time passes, it passes with its blessings and lights, and perhaps the time you wasted is the time in which your Lord was approaching you.
