Dubai, December 16 / WAM / The World of Coffee Dubai 2025 exhibition will host the first auction of its kind for rare coffee in the region, which includes about 20 groups of specialty and rare coffee beans.
The auction is the result of the strategic partnership between the World of Coffee Exhibition and the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, which aims to strengthen Dubai’s position as a global center for coffee in the region.
Attendees will be able to participate in the auction directly, while those who were unable to attend will be able to participate remotely through an advanced digital platform.
Rare specialty coffee beans are defined as coffee beans that receive a rating of 80 points or more out of 100 according to the evaluation standard of the Specialty Coffee Association, noting that all batches of coffee beans that will be bid on have a rating of 92 points or more.
The prices of highly rated coffee are rising significantly, and the list of the rarest types of coffee includes Black Ivory coffee from Thailand, the price of which is about $1,500 per kilogram, and Kopi Luwak coffee from Indonesia, which costs $1,200 per kilogram.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, CEO and Executive Director of the DMCC, said that the first coffee auction in Dubai for the year 2025 is a new step that reflects the Center’s role in shaping the future of one of the most traded commodities in the world, by displaying some of the rarest and finest types of coffee.
He added that the importance of the auction is not limited to the possibility of setting new records in the prices of specialty coffee, but it also works to strengthen Dubai’s position as a major center for global coffee trade, as it brings together the most prominent producers, traders and coffee lovers from all over the world in Dubai, to advance the wheel of growth, sustainability and excellence in coffee. this sector.

This increase is due to growing global demand, especially in Asia, in addition to challenges related to production such as climate change in major producing countries such as Brazil and Vietnam, which enhances The importance of such events, especially as they bring together the most important producers and pioneers and provide an in-depth view of the promising trends in the coffee industry.
The auction is considered one of the most prominent events of the World of Coffee Dubai 2025 exhibition, the largest trade exhibition for coffee in the Middle East. The fourth session of the exhibition will be held during the period from 10 to 12 February 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Center, and its last session, which was held in January 2024, attracted more than 13 thousand visitors. And 400 international exhibitors, and the exhibition comes at an important time when coffee is witnessing significant growth, with expectations that the size of the coffee market will reach the Middle East and North Africa region.
