Minister of Transport: Presidential directives to immediately implement all aspects of cooperation with brotherly Iraq
Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, affirmed the depth of the historical relations between Egypt and brotherly Iraq, noting that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed the immediate implementation of all aspects of cooperation with brotherly Iraq and the fulfillment of all demands of the Iraqi side.
This came during the Minister’s meeting with the Governor of Karbala in the Republic of Iraq, Engineer Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, during which ways of cooperation between the two sides in various fields of transportation were discussed, and benefiting from the companies’ expertise. The Egyptian government in the field of urban transport and information technology, and the construction and establishment of modern mass transit projects and infrastructure projects in Karbala Governorate, according to the Ministry of Transport, in a statement today, Thursday.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and the Minister of Industry and Transport indicated that the Egyptian government’s interest in establishing a giant infrastructure In various fields, he came in light of the fact that infrastructure represents the backbone of the national economy and the main support for the fields of industry, agriculture and tourism, noting the presence of strong companies and consulting offices in Egypt that compete with international offices. These companies aim to contribute to the renaissance of Iraq in various fields and are fully prepared to implement infrastructure projects in brotherly Iraq.
In this regard, the Minister praised the successful experiences of a number of Egyptian companies in implementing a number of infrastructure projects in brotherly Iraq ( Road and bridge projects) with high quality in record time, such as the companies “SAMCO” and “Al-Nasr General Contracting Company of Egypt”. For his part, The Governor of Karbala stressed the strong relations between the two brotherly peoples, praising the great renaissance that Egypt is witnessing in all fields during the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
He pointed out that the huge projects that Egypt has implemented and is implementing are a reason for pride, adding that This pioneering Egyptian experience represents a major success story to be emulated, noting that during his current visit to Egypt, he saw huge projects and modern mass transportation means that provide the highest levels of service to citizens, such as the light electric train (LRT), with all its amenities. The giant Adly Mansour central interchange station, which includes five modern means of transportation, in addition to the monorail projects, the high-speed electric train, the BRT bus, road projects, and the giant Upper Egypt Bashtil train station that is comparable to international stations, in addition to interchange stations between different means of transportation.
Al-Khattabi explained that these huge projects make it of great importance to benefit from the successful Egyptian experience. He and his accompanying delegation praised the new administrative capital, which they described as a global city. Amazing.
