The President of the State awards the Minister of Environment of Chile with the Zayed II Medal, First Class

Santiago, December 20 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, awarded Her Excellency Professor Maysa Rojas, Minister of the Environment of Chile, the Zayed II Order, First Class, in appreciation of her contributions to the success of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention. Regarding climate change “COP28”, which was hosted by the UAE late last year.

The award ceremony took place during her reception with His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Neyadi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Chile, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the capital, Santiago. Her Excellency expressed her deep thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” for this. The honour, praising the “historic UAE agreement” reached at “COP28”, which has become a reference and basic framework for climate action and global sustainability.

For his part, His Excellency Al Neyadi congratulated Her Excellency on this medal, pointing out that the rapid changes that the world is witnessing require intensifying international cooperation and partnerships in adopting sustainability concepts and practices on the widest scale.

His Excellency praised Chile’s participation in the “COP28” conference, and its support for the historic UAE agreement, which enhances cooperation and collective work, to preserve humanity and planet Earth.
