“Jeddah Book” reviews the efforts of Saudi scholars in serving the Arabic language

Yesterday, the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language organized a dialogue symposium entitled “The Efforts of Saudi Scholars in Serving the Arabic Language,” as part of the activities of the cultural program accompanying the Jeddah Book Fair 2024, coinciding with the International Arabic Language Day.
The symposium was held on the main stage with the participation of a group of academics, including: Dr. Mahmoud Ismail, Dr. Suleiman Al-Ayed, Dr. Abdullah Al-Qarni, and moderated by Dr. Alaa Al-Shehri, in the presence of intellectuals and interested people.
Distinctive educational series
Dr. began. Ismail Al-Jalsa praised the efforts of the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language in spreading the Arabic language and literature at the international level, highlighting its pioneering initiatives.
He reviewed his experience in managing the Arabic Language Institute for non-native speakers, and its preparation of distinguished educational series such as “Arabic for Life” and “Easy Reading.”
He discussed the Saudi Automated Terminology Bank (BASEM) project, which is considered one of the pioneering initiatives to support scientific and technical terminology in the Arabic language.
Challenges facing the Arabic language
Dr. stressed. Al-Aid stressed that the strength of the language derives from the strength of its people, pointing to the challenges facing the Arabic language in the modern era at the Arab and global levels.
He stressed the importance of reviewing the goals of education and qualifying qualified teachers who would contribute to expanding the spread of the Arabic language.
He pointed out that the Islamic world is looking forward to learning the Arabic language because of its close connection to the Holy Qur’an and religious sciences.
Graduating generations of academics

He pointed to its role in qualifying students from various countries of the world to enroll in Arab universities, and graduating generations of academics specialized in the Arabic language and its sciences.
The Jeddah Book Fair 2024 receives visitors daily from 11 a.m. until midnight, except for Friday, which starts at 2 p.m.
The exhibition continues until December 21, forming a cultural destination that celebrates the richness and antiquity of the Arabic language.
