Abu Dhabi, December 24 / WAM / The nomination process for the Future Cities Awards 2025, one of the most prominent global awards in the field of urban innovation and sustainability, was officially launched, which is organized as part of the activities of the second day of the AIM2025 Investment Summit in Abu Dhabi, to honor pioneering and distinguished initiatives in the field of developing smart and sustainable cities. .
The Future Cities Awards aim to highlight the achievements of individuals, organizations and projects that are reshaping the features of cities through innovation and advanced technology.
These awards are an ideal platform to encourage cooperation between the public and private sectors, and enhance the role of sustainability and modern technologies in building a better future for urban communities.
Walid Farghal, Director General of the AIM Investment Summit, said that the Future Cities Awards honor innovators who contribute to transforming the urban landscape, through inspiring ideas and influential initiatives, adding that it is a platform that celebrates future visions and projects that improve the quality of life and pave the way for a more sustainable future.
The awards include seven main categories, designed to honor various aspects of outstanding urban development, namely the Future City Award, which celebrates cities that adopt innovative policies and employ technology to enhance the well-being of residents and improve public services, and the Social Impact Award, which highlights initiatives that promote equality, inclusion and resilience in communities. Urban, and the Future Mobility for All Award honors innovations in sustainable transportation systems that ensure easy and safe access for all.
The categories also include the Sustainable and Green Solutions Award, which is allocated to projects that support environmentally friendly urban development and enhance the sustainability of resources, the Smart Infrastructure Award to honor the transformative uses of smart technologies that enhance urban life and contribute to improving connectivity, and the Innovation Award to highlight innovative solutions from the private sector. Which enhances the efficiency and quality of life in cities, in addition to the Future City Pioneers Award, which celebrates individuals who lead meaningful change in the field of sustainable urban development.

Nominations will be evaluated by a distinguished jury that includes experts in the fields of urban planning, sustainability, technology, and public policy.
The evaluation process will depend on several criteria, most notably innovation, societal impact, scalability, feasibility, and leadership vision.
