The Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is working to achieve two strategic objectives within the Quality of Life Program, which aims to enhance the Kingdom’s position as a global sports and entertainment destination, and make it a leading tourist destination at the regional and international levels.
This comes through six qualitative initiatives that contribute to enhancing the quality of life and achieving a tangible positive impact on various segments of society in all regions of the Kingdom.

Mental sports training

The initiative aims to rehabilitate and operate (7) facilities specialized in mental sports, while preparing training programs and activities that focus on developing the mental abilities of male and female students.
The initiative also includes alleviating behavioral and emotional disorders affecting 600 male and female students.
These activities are implemented by training (24) male and female trainers, which contributes to addressing the behavioral challenges and learning difficulties of the targets..

Developing physical activities in universities

The initiative seeks to rehabilitate and equip (14) existing sports centers, in addition to establishing (12) new sports centers within universities.
It also aims to train male and female specialists to work in these centers, while providing a competitive sports environment that includes all university employees and people with special needs.
This initiative contributes to raising the operational efficiency of university sports facilities and enhancing the practice of sports activities in society, which supports the participation of male and female students in competitive competitions inside and outside the Kingdom..

Developing arts subject in schools

The initiative seeks to integrate visual, performing, and audio arts into the school curriculum by building specialized teaching standards, in addition to developing the capabilities of male and female teachers.
The plan includes preparing school infrastructure and holding internal cultural and artistic competitions, which contributes to improving the quality of education and raising the level of artistic culture among more than (6 million) students, both male and female, at various educational levels..

Neighborhood educational and recreational clubs

The initiative aims to equip and operate community clubs to provide educational and recreational activities directed to all members of society, allowing the investment of the time of male and female students and all community members.
The initiative seeks to equip these clubs with appropriate facilities and qualified and trained human cadres, which enhances the spread of the culture of practicing sports, cultural and social activities in society..

Developing physical activity in schools

This initiative includes the establishment of (31) new sports centers and the rehabilitation of (6) existing centers in various regions of the Kingdom. These centers allow practicing a variety of sports such as football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, handball, athletics and swimming.
The initiative also seeks to develop the professional performance of more than (10,000) physical education teachers and raise their efficiency, which contributes to increasing the rate of practicing sports among more than (7 million) male and female students at all educational levels and discovering sports talent in schools..

Promoting sports participation for female students in schools

The initiative aims to establish (151) new gymnasiums and rehabilitate (590) existing gymnasiums in general education schools at the primary, middle and secondary levels.
The plan includes qualifying and employing (1,222) physical education teachers to provide technical support and promote the culture of practicing sports. The initiative contributes to increasing the number of female students participating in sports activities and enhancing the participation of teachers in spreading sports awareness.
