Sudan: Ramtane Lamamra stresses the importance of giving priority to the spirit of solution, and wishes the Sudanese a peaceful year

Lamamra told UN News at the end of his fourth visit to Sudan that their efforts have been continuing throughout the year. “Efforts based on good intentions. Efforts based on the experiences of the United Nations with regard to preventing and resolving conflicts and promoting peaceful solutions.”.

The UN official pointed out that the results of his efforts did not reach the desired degree of effectiveness in convincing the parties to the conflict of the necessity of resorting to negotiation and working to achieve a ceasefire in all its forms throughout Sudan.

He added: “But this naturally made us realize the parties’ positions accurately, and we naturally appreciate the desire of each party to take into account the points to which each party attaches great importance.”.

Lamamra said that there is no acceptable reason for these conditions in the country, stressing that “It is required that all the problems raised be solved through peaceful means.”.

The Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General expressed his wishes to the Sudanese people that the year 2025 will be a year in which they will enjoy “Blessings, peace, and further progress, national harmony and harmony among all members of the Sudanese people.”.
