Suhail Al Mazrouei: 90 thousand housing support decisions worth 60 billion dirhams since the establishment of the Zayed Housing Program

His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, confirmed that the achievements achieved by the energy and infrastructure sector are the culmination of a strategic vision aimed at achieving a balance between urban development and environmental protection, while ensuring the well-being of society and the state’s leadership in various sectors in order to achieve goals and visions. He stressed that the UAE realizes the importance of international cooperation in achieving the transition to clean and sustainable energy, and seeks to enhance joint investments in this field, which supports its position as a global center for developing and exporting clean energy solutions. Regarding the energy sector, His Excellency explained that the UAE continues its steady march towards achieving its ambitious goals in the field of clean and renewable energy, adopting a comprehensive vision that aims to achieve a sustainable balance between economic growth and environmental protection, which is to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and increase the energy contribution. He said that in the context of accelerating efforts to transition to clean and renewable energy and developing sustainable energy solutions, the country plans to invest an additional 500 billion dirhams over the next 30 years to achieve climate neutrality, noting that renewable energy production in the UAE is currently 6 gigawatts, and nuclear energy is 5.6 gigawatts.
He stressed that the total federal assets amounted to approximately 3,000 federal buildings, while the volume of investments in infrastructure during the years 2018-2023 amounted to about 11.8 billion dirhams, which included infrastructure and maintenance projects within the investment program of the Ministry and the Executive Committee for the initiatives of His Highness the President of the State, of which 6.62 billion were AED 5.18 billion for federal government buildings, and 5.18 billion dirhams for federal roads, dams, and water canals.
Regarding the housing sector, His Excellency explained that the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program has succeeded, since its establishment in 1999, in achieving family stability by meeting the demand for government housing and providing decent housing for citizens, as it issued more than 90,000 housing support decisions worth approximately 60 billion dirhams, covering all regions of the country.
He pointed out that during the last three years, thanks to the flexibility of development and modernization of legislation, approximately 13,000 housing support decisions worth more than 10 billion dirhams were issued, which were distributed among 10,738 housing loan and financing decisions worth approximately 8 billion and 807 million dirhams, and 2,347 grant decisions worth one billion dirhams. And 567 million dirhams, which contributed to reducing the number of accumulated decisions by 95%.
He pointed out that the Ministry, as part of its efforts to achieve family stability, launched the “My Home” package, which was approved by the Council of Ministers, and aims to provide 18 housing services to beneficiaries of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program, through cooperation with 24 federal and local government agencies to contribute to reducing the customer’s journey and the required documents. Which he needs through one party instead of 11 parties as was previously the case.
In confirmation of its growing global position in the maritime transport sector, and its prominent role in supporting and developing it, the country was chosen to host World Maritime Day in 2025.
The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure concluded a memorandum of cooperation with Neonautica, a company specialized in technology and digital services for the maritime sector, with the aim of developing and operating the “Emirati Blue Traffic Platform.”
Among the qualitative achievements in the maritime sector, the state was able to achieve the goals of the multimodal traffic project. The state also participated, through its presence in the International Maritime Organization, in a large number of working papers that contributed to raising the effectiveness and efficiency of maritime work globally.
His Excellency Al Mazrouei stated that the UAE ranked seventh in the world in logistics performance in 2023, first in the world in the quality of air transport infrastructure, and third in facilitating seaborne trade, providing ship fuel, and air transport efficiency, in addition to fifth in the world in the ranking of centers. The sea is ranked fifth globally and first in the Arab region in terms of road quality, ninth globally in the efficiency of seaports, 12th in the maritime transport index, and 13th globally in the two indicators. The Ministry has also achieved exceptional achievements and results, within the zero-bureaucracy program, which aims to simplify and reduce procedures, as it was able to zero bureaucracy in 21 services and operations, by canceling more than 745 thousand government procedures approximately, and reducing 75% in the time it takes to complete services, which… It contributed to saving 21 million hours of customers’ time, and shortening more than 75% of field and electronic visits, which led to an increase in customer happiness regarding the Ministry’s services to reach Its rate is 91%.
