More than 2.5 million passengers used public transportation in Dubai on New Year’s Eve

The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai announced that the number of users of public transport, taxis, electronic reservations and shared transportation during the celebration of New Year’s Eve 2025 reached more than 2.5 million passengers, an increase of 9.3% over the number of passengers on last New Year’s Eve 2024, which It reached 2 million 288 thousand 631 passengers.

The metro, with its red and green lines, was used by 1,133,251 passengers, while the tram carried 55,391 passengers, and the number of public bus passengers on this night reached 465,779 passengers, while various types of marine transportation transported 80,066 passengers, and electronic reservation vehicles transported 195. 1,651 passengers and shared transportation vehicles 1,238 passengers. As for taxis, they transported 571,98 passengers.

The Authority confirmed that the transportation of public transportation users to the sites of New Year’s Eve celebrations was smooth and safe, thanks to the integrated traffic plan it developed and the efforts of the work teams distributed in the control centers and in the field, in coordination with the relevant authorities in the Emirate of Dubai.
