"The Washington Post": China hacks the US Treasury Sanctions Office

The Washington Post reported: The Chinese government has hacked the US Treasury Department’s sanctions office, officials said.

Earlier this week, the Treasury Department revealed, in a letter to lawmakers, that Chinese state-sponsored hackers had stolen documents, in what the department described as A major incident.

The targeting of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) as well as the Office of the Secretary of the Treasury – developments that have not been previously reported – reflects Beijing’s determination to obtain intelligence on its most important global competitor.
