Nagy and Ashour represent the Egyptian refereeing in the African Cup of Nations for local players

The Confederation of African Football announced the list of referees selected to manage the matches of the African Cup of Nations for local teams, which will be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda during the month of February.

The list included 65 referees, and witnessed the presence of two Egyptian referees, namely Mahmoud Nagy " "arbiter" And Mahmoud Ashour “VAR”.

It is noteworthy that the Senegalese national team was crowned the African Nations Championship, in the last edition held in Algeria in January 2023, after defeating the host country 5-4 on penalties in the final match.
