The Sheikh of Al-Azhar and the Minister of Education discuss enhancing the teaching of the Arabic language and religious education in the curricula

His Eminence the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, stressed the necessity of adopting an education strategy that takes into account the basic needs of our Arab youth, linking them to religious and moral values ​​and the Arabic language, in light of the flood of cultural invasion that aims to exclude religion and morals and give priority to linking young people with foreign languages ​​at the expense of their mother tongue. The Arabic language.

This came during the reception of His Eminence the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, today, Thursday, in the sheikhdom. Al-Azhar, Minister of Education, Education and Technical Education, Muhammad Abdel Latif.

The Sheikh of Al-Azhar also stressed the need to be aware of the cultural invasion that aims to pass some behaviors that conflict with our Islamic and Eastern values ​​through educational curricula, and to adopt educational curricula, warning against Societal diseases that are issued to us under the slogans (rights and freedoms such as homosexuality and transgenderism), and explaining the religion’s position on them, in addition to strengthening belonging to the homeland, and raising awareness of the nation’s issues in the souls of young people. And the youth. 

He pointed out the need to pay attention to teaching the Arabic language, raising students’ skills in spelling and correct pronunciation, and developing their abilities in familiarity with the rules of the Arabic language and writing correctly. 

For his part, The Minister of Education expressed his happiness at meeting the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, stressing that the Ministry is making great efforts to connect students with schools, consolidate the role of the school and the teacher in education and guidance, and is working to provide a distinguished educational service in… In light of the available capabilities, this is through the return of the school’s role as a primary focus for educating students and directing their behavior.

The Minister of Education pointed out the Ministry’s interest in teaching the Arabic language and religious education, due to their importance in creating students’ personalities and enhancing the feeling of belonging to the homeland.< /p>

The meeting discussed ways to enhance the exchange of experiences between the two sides to develop Arabic language curricula and religious education, in a way that achieves the desired goals of raising a generation that is proficient in its mother tongue and consolidating the values ​​and principles of the true Islamic religion.
