Hundreds of animals died…a massive fire in a mall in Dallas, America

A massive fire broke out in a mall in the American city of Dallas, killing more than 500 animals, most of them small birds.
Dallas Fire and Rescue Department spokesman Jason Evans said in a statement that 579 animals at the Plaza Latina pet store in northwest Dallas died from smoke inhalation.

The fire took about two hours and about 45 firefighters participated in extinguishing it around 11 a.m. local time, according to Evans.

“While Dallas Fire Department personnel searched and attempted rescues, unfortunately, all of the animals in the store died from smoke inhalation,” Evans said.

No injuries were reported among people in the fire, while the large one-story mall structure sustained severe damage, including a partially collapsed roof.
The cause of the fire was not immediately determined and is under investigation, according to Evans.
