"Abu Dhabi Trauma Forum" Focuses on developments in emergency medicine and critical care

ABU DHABI, 5 JANUARY / WAM / The “Abu Dhabi Trauma Forum”, which was held for two days under the slogan “Together to Prepare a Nation”, focused on developments in emergency and trauma medicine and the latest developments in trauma and critical care care, in the presence of healthcare specialists and researchers from various countries of the world.

The forum, which concluded today, was organized by the Emirates Medical Preparedness and Response Programme, “Jahiya”, under the supervision of the Emirates Emergency Medical Teams, members of the National Medical Reserve Programme.
The forum’s program included panel discussions and workshops moderated and attended by a group of experts and specialists, during which the focus was on enhancing knowledge and skills in managing critical health care cases and discussing topics about emergency cases, trauma triage, critical care, the multidisciplinary approach to trauma care, and medical readiness and response.
The forum aimed to bring about a qualitative shift in the methodologies and frameworks of trauma and emergency medicine, in line with Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading healthcare destination and a distinguished model in preparedness and response to health emergencies.
The forum reviewed the pioneering role of the Emirates National Program for Medical Preparedness and Response, “Jahiya,” which was launched at the initiative of the Pride of the Nation Office, the Emirates Doctors, and the Fatima College of Health and National Sciences to train “Tadreeb,” “Seha,” and PureHealth, and aims to build the capabilities and refine the expertise of 20,000 first-line defense cadres. Increasing their readiness for medical response to emergencies, disasters and crises according to a unified, integrated and internationally approved approach through twinning with the most prominent universities and training centres. Dr. Adel Al-Shammari Al-Ajmi, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, Chief Physician of the Emirates and CEO of the Jaheziya Programme, emphasized the paramount importance of trauma and emergency medicine, their fundamental role in the health care system, and the urgent necessities that call for its continuous development, especially with the rapid changes witnessed in the international health arena in this aspect.
