After Vicario’s ankle fracture, Tottenham signs a young goalkeeper

Tottenham has signed young Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinski from Slavia Prague for 15.5 million US dollars, according to what the London club announced on Sunday.
Spurs has been without its first goalkeeper, Italian Guglielmo Vicario, since he broke his ankle during a 4-0 win over Manchester City in November, and his absence is expected to continue until the end of February.
Fraser Forster filled the goalkeeping position after Vicario’s injury, but the English international missed Saturday’s match, which Tottenham lost to Newcastle 1-2, due to illness, and Brandon Austin took his place.
Australian coach Ange Postecoglou’s team won only two of its last 11 matches in all competitions, falling to twelfth place in the English Premier League standings.
Kinski (21 years old), whose father was also an international goalkeeper, completed his medical examination at Tottenham on Saturday and signed a contract until 2031.
The young goalkeeper played 29 matches for Slavia Prague this month, keeping 14 clean sheets.
Kinski told Slavia Prague’s website that the move is “a dream come true.”
He stated, “It was clear that such an opportunity might not come again. I decided to seize it, and then the whole matter was in the hands of the two clubs.”
It remains for Tottenham to confirm the deal regarding obtaining the international dismissal of the goalkeeper and obtaining a work visa.
