Washington intends to ease restrictions on aid to Syria

The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday, Sunday, that the administration of US President Joe Biden will announce today, Monday, an easing of restrictions on humanitarian aid to Syria and accelerating the delivery of basic supplies without lifting restrictions restricting other aid to the new government in Damascus.

It said. The newspaper, citing officials, said that this step, which was approved by the US administration at the weekend, authorizes the Treasury Department to issue exemptions to relief groups and companies that provide basics such as water, electricity, and other humanitarian supplies.
