38.3 billion riyals, the value of local production of agricultural crops

The results of the Agriculture and Fisheries Accounts Bulletin (Environmental Economic Accounting for Agriculture and Fisheries 2023) showed that the rate of reliance on local production of vegetables amounted to 80.6% of the total supply of vegetables.
According to the results of the bulletin issued by the Statistics Authority, the percentage of dependence on fruits reached 63.7% of the total supply (supplies of fruits) for the year 2023 AD.

Agricultural crops

As for grains, the percentage of dependence on local production available for consumption reached 14.8%, while the value of the total domestic production of agricultural crops amounted to 38 billion and 331 million riyals.
The percentage of fruit production from the local production of agricultural crops was 54%, at a rate of 7 thousand riyals/ton. As for vegetables, the percentage of local production value was 20.5%, at a rate of 2.4 thousand riyals/ton.
The value of local grain production reached 10.9%, at a rate of 2.4 thousand riyals/ton.

Livestock

The percentage of local production of cows out of the total supply (supplies) was 67.4%, and the percentage of camel production was 76% of the total supply (supplies of camels), with a local production amounting to 702 thousand heads, of which the average value of a head was 6 thousand riyals.
The average value of local production of sheep and goats reached 1,250 riyals/head. With regard to livestock assets, the growth in livestock (livestock) reached 1,234 thousand heads, and the growth rate of goats was the highest at 51.8% of the total growth in livestock.
The final balance of goats reached 7 million and 418 thousand heads, followed by camels, with a growth of 210 thousand heads during the year 2023 AD.

Fish wealth

The total supply (supplies) of fish reached 377 thousand tons in 2023 AD, of which the percentage of local production was 56.9%, distributed among marine fishing.
and fish farming, 43.1% of which are fish imports.
As for the production value of fish resources, it amounted to 5 billion and 189 million riyals, at a rate of 24 thousand riyals per ton of fish and its products.
The results showed that the rate of change in marine fishing in 2023 amounted to 19%, compared to the reference period for the years 2000 – 2020 AD.
