The UAE condemns Israel’s publication of maps that include parts of Palestine, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon

The UAE condemned in the strongest terms what official accounts affiliated with the Israeli government published on social media platforms of maps of the region, claiming to be of “historic Israel,” including parts of the occupied Palestinian territory, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria, which constitutes a further perpetuation of the occupation and a blatant violation of international laws.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed – in a statement – the UAE’s categorical rejection of all provocative practices aimed at changing the legal status in the occupied Palestinian territory, and all measures that violate international legitimacy resolutions, which threaten more dangerous escalation and tension, and hinder efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.

The Ministry also stressed the need to support all regional and international efforts to advance the peace process in the Middle East, as well as putting an end to the illegal practices that threaten the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The Ministry renewed its call on the United Nations and the UN Security Council to assume their responsibilities to enhance security and peace by resolving chronic issues and conflicts in the region, and indicated that building peace in the region is the way to consolidate the foundations of sustainable stability and security in it and meet the aspirations of its people for comprehensive development and a decent life.
