Magdy El-Badawi: The anticipated social protection package is the president’s gift to Egyptians in the new year

Magdy El-Badawi, Vice President of the General Federation of Egyptian Trade Unions and President of the General Union of Press, Printing and Media Workers, confirmed that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to the government to prepare a vision to approve a new social package during the current year 2025 prove to us his constant feeling for the conditions of ordinary citizens, especially those earning the minimum wage. Al-Badawi stated that this new social package aims To improve the standard of living for citizens by increasing incomes and providing basic services, in addition to alleviating the effects of inflation on citizens, especially on the groups most affected.

The Vice President of the Egyptian Workers Union added that the social packages and increases that are approved by the state Under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the concept of social justice should be taken into account, as it concerns all state workers and the promotion of social stability. He called on the relevant agencies and departments to control the price system so as not to eat up these increases in salaries and pensions.

Al-Badawi called on the National Wages Council to review the value of The current minimum wage in the private sector is in line with inflation rates and obligating institutions to apply it similarly to the public sector.
