An awareness session in Fujairah that promotes the culture of organ donation

FUJAIRAH, 10 JANUARY / WAM / The Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi Council, in cooperation with the Fujairah Regional Development Foundation, organized an awareness session on the “Hayat” program for organ and tissue donation, in the Al Badiyah District Council in the Emirate of Fujairah, where it witnessed a large attendance from the people of the region and neighboring areas.
During the session held within the Community Councils Initiative, and under the title “Hayat Initiative…to build a healthy and sustainable society,” Dr. Ali Al-Obaidli, Chairman of the National Committee for Organ Transplantation at the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, and Dr. Aisha Al-Saridi, Head of the Strategy and Future Department at the Fujairah Medical District, spoke about the goals of The program aims to promote the culture of organ donation in the Emirates in accordance with international standards, and contribute to saving lives and improving the lives of patients.
The session highlighted success stories of patients who benefited from organ donation, reflecting the importance of this humanitarian work for the individual and society.
The session aimed to raise community awareness about the importance of organ and tissue donation, and clarify the steps for registering in the “Hayat” program. It also discussed misconceptions about organ donation, with the aim of motivating society to actively participate in promoting the culture of donation, while emphasizing the importance of the role of the Emirate of Fujairah in this field. As a successful model, it can be expanded nationwide.
