Cairo Governor: The Cleaning Authority begins implementing the first phase of planting trees on the ring road

The Governor of Cairo, Dr. Ibrahim Saber, confirmed that the General Authority for Cleaning, Beautification and Lighting of Cairo has begun implementing the work of the first phase of planting the ring road, starting from Mokattam towards Giza, as part of the presidential initiative to plant 100 million trees with the aim of improving the quality of life and the environment while applying sustainable standards to preserve Trees and their maintenance, which contributes to purifying the air, lowering temperatures, and improving the aesthetic and cultural appearance in line with the various projects in the capital.
The governor said Cairo – in a statement today, Tuesday – that several main sites were chosen on the ring road, which include all areas suitable for afforestation, and lush green trees that require small amounts of water were also chosen.
He pointed out that the ring road afforestation initiative seeks to Applying standards to ensure the sustainability of tree preservation and maintenance and reducing the irrigation water used, taking into account the aesthetic appearance and visual environment of the places to be afforested, as well as the types of crops chosen, and their harmonious distribution, in a way that reflects a civilized appearance of the road. Ring Road, in coordination with the Ministries of Environment, Housing and Utilities, and Agriculture.
