المملكة: Programs to support staff in student and health guidance in general education across universities
The Ministry of Education announced the launch of applications for higher diploma programs in student guidance and school health guidance, which aim to meet the needs in general education schools and invest in qualified human cadres who hold educational and administrative positions.
Applications began as of yesterday, Sunday, January 19, 2025 AD, and will continue until Wednesday, January 29, 2025 AD. Applications are made through the Fares system, while adhering to the conditions and controls set by the Ministry to ensure the selection of qualified competencies.
Higher Diploma in Student Guidance
The program includes studying (36) credit hours distributed over two semesters, and aims to prepare student mentors capable of meeting the needs of general education schools and supporting students psychologically and socially. The program targets occupants of educational positions in the specializations of psychology, sociology, social service, Arabic language, Islamic studies, and social studies, in addition to holders of administrative positions from various specializations, with priority given to the specializations of psychology, sociology, and social service.
The program is implemented in the following universities: King Saud University, King Abdulaziz University, King Khalid University, and Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University.

Higher Diploma in School Health Guidance
The program includes studying (24) credit hours distributed over two semesters, and aims to prepare health mentors capable of promoting public health in general education schools by providing health support to students and contributing to improving the healthy school environment. The program targets occupants of educational and administrative positions who hold a bachelor’s degree, with priority given to the majors of science, family education, Arabic language, Islamic studies, and social studies.
The program is implemented in the following universities: King Saud University, King Abdulaziz University, King Khalid University, and Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University.
Terms and controls
For admission to higher diploma programs, the Ministry of Education requires that the applicant must be working, must not be more than 47 years old, must have served in an educational position for no less than two years, and must have no less than a bachelor’s degree with a grade of no less than good. It is also required to pass a personal interview at the General Administration of Education, with a commitment to work for the Ministry after graduation for a period equivalent to the period of study.

It is also required to obtain a professional license after completing the program, and that the job performance rating during the last two years must not be less than excellent, and the applicant must not have violated his job duties or been subjected to a disciplinary ruling during the two years preceding the nomination.
Application schedule, interviews and results
Applications for higher diploma programs begin today, Sunday, January 19, 2025, and end on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. The preliminary nomination results will be announced on Thursday, January 30, 2025, while personal interviews will be conducted during the period from February 2 to 6, 2025. The start date of the study will be determined later.
Study mechanism and implementation sites
The Ministry of Education explained that the study will be carried out in the evenings outside of official working hours, allowing candidates the possibility of combining study and work. Implementation locations include the regions of Riyadh, Asir and Jeddah, where the programs are offered in partnership with the previously mentioned universities.
The Ministry confirmed that these programs are part of its efforts to improve the quality of guidance and health services in general education schools, ensure the qualification of cadres capable of meeting the needs of the educational process, and promote an integrated educational and health environment that serves male and female students in various regions.
