The launch of the UAE International Skydiving Championship

Yesterday, Monday, the first stage of the UAE International Skydiving Championship 2025 competitions began, which will be held with the participation of more than 200 elite international athletes.
The first phase, which was held at the CLYMB facility on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, included indoor freediving competitions in the longest indoor freediving wind tunnel in the world, and will continue until January 24. The opening ceremony also included artistic performances by the four-, eight-, and sixteen-figure formations. , as well as exciting individual formations.
The second stage of the championship is scheduled to be held at the Skydive Dubai site on January 25 and 26, and includes outdoor free jumping competitions.
The opening day ceremony of the tournament was attended by Yousef Hassan Al Hammadi, Vice President of the Emirates Air Sports Federation, Mohammed Yousef Abdul Rahman, Secretary General of the Federation, and Hussein Mohammed Al Hassani, Deputy General Manager of CLYMB, Yas Island.
Al Hammadi stressed that holding the tournament in its two stages in Abu Dhabi and Dubai under the umbrella of the federation reflects the great efforts made by the federation to develop its sport and spread it on the widest scale, as an investment in the great potential that the UAE possesses.
He pointed out that the wide participation, represented by 200 of the most prominent jumpers in the field of wind tunnels at the global level, enriches the competitions and reflects the international community’s confidence in the UAE’s organizational capabilities, especially since the competitions this year are exceptional and unprecedented in the longest indoor free-diving wind tunnel in the world.
Mohammed Youssef, Secretary-General of the Air Sports Federation, considered that the championship is one of the strongest and largest skydiving championships in the world, as it includes two types of indoor freediving competitions in “Clym” and outdoor freediving in “Skydive Dubai.”
He explained that the championship aims to strengthen the UAE’s position as a global sports destination and support the sport of free jumping at the local, regional and global levels, through unique international facilities and distinguished professional organisation.
