"Prince of poets" It concludes the second phase of its 11th season

ABU DHABI, 24TH JANUARY / WAM / The Prince of Poets program, produced by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, concluded the second phase of its eleventh season, with the live eighth episode competitions, which were broadcast yesterday evening from Al Raha Beach Theater in Abu Dhabi, in which poets Asma Al Hammadi from the UAE, and Sira Alloush from The Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdul Salam Saeed Abu Hajar from Libya, Othman Al-Hisho Qarabshi from the Kingdom of Morocco, and Imad Abu Ahmed from Germany.

The session was attended by Dr. Sultan Al Amimi, Acting Executive Director of the Poetry and Heritage Sector at the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, members of the program’s advisory committee, Dr. Muhammad Abu Al Fadl Badran, Dr. Imad Khalaf, the poet Raad Bandar, and an audience of poets, media figures, writers, intellectuals, and poetry lovers.

The decision of the jury, consisting of Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Dr. Wahb Roumieh, and Dr. Muhammad Hajo, qualified the poet Othman Al-Hishu Qarabshi from Morocco by obtaining 47 degrees out of 50, while Imad Abu Ahmed scored 46 degrees, Asma Al-Hammadi scored 40 degrees, and Abdul Salam Abu Hajar scored 40 degrees. Alloush received 38 marks, waiting for one of them to complete the contract for the finalists to the third stage by public vote.

The result of the public vote last week resulted in the poet Abdul Wahed Imran from Yemen qualifying after obtaining a score of 95 out of 100, to move to the next stage with the poet Abdul Rahman Al-Humairi from the Emirates, who qualified by the decision of the jury in the last episode.

The six shortlisted poets will compete in the semi-final stage, which consists of one episode in which the jury awards scores of 30%, and voting takes place at the end of the evening and for a week by the viewers, who have the right to vote for 40% of the scores.

In the final stage, which consists of one episode, the six poets continue to compete to win the title, and the committee awards the poets the remaining 30% of the grades. At the end of the episode, the committee’s grades are combined with the voting grades, to announce the final results.

Yesterday, the episode hosted, in a poetry competition, the poet Muhammad Al-Madawi Al-Wadaei from Saudi Arabia, who won the title of “Million Poet” in the eleventh season, and the poet Sheikha Al-Mutairi from the Emirates, the first Arab poet to reach the title of “Prince of Poets” in the eighth season of the program.
