The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities receives the Minister of Culture of Venezuela to enhance cooperation

Today, Mr. Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, received in his office at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, Mr. Ernesto Villagas Boljac, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Venezuela, and his accompanying delegation, during his current official visit to Egypt, to discuss strengthening and developing cooperation frameworks between the two countries in the field of antiquities. And introducing the Egyptian and Venezuelan people to their respective culture and civilization, especially in light of the passion of the Venezuelan people for Egyptian civilization. The meeting was attended by Ambassador Wilmer Omar Barrientos, Venezuelan Ambassador to Cairo, Mr. Angel Herrera, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Venezuelan Embassy in Cairo, and Mr. Moamen Othman, Head of the Museums Sector at the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Ambassador Khaled Tharwat, Advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for International Relations and General Supervisor of the General Administration of International Relations and Agreements At the Ministry.
The meeting emphasized the strong friendly relations between Egypt and Venezuela and the mutual respect and cooperation they witness in various fields, especially tourism and antiquities.

The possibility of cooperation in the fields of museums, restoration and preservation of antiquities was also discussed, as the Venezuelan Minister of Culture expressed his government’s desire to benefit from Egyptian expertise in these fields.
In this regard, In this regard, Mr. Sherif Fathi welcomed this, expressing the Ministry’s readiness to cooperate by organizing training programs for archaeologists in the Republic of Venezuela in Egypt or in Venezuela.
