She pointed out that modern statistics reflect a remarkable development in the field of intellectual property protection, as the total number of copyright requests for the year 2023 reached 1,574 requests, with a total of 962 optional registrations for the author’s right, while the total number of trademark registration requests for 2023 to 45,325 requests, with a total 28,038 registered brands. The total deposit of patent requests was 58,890 requests, and 19,203 protection documents were issued. As for industrial designs requests, the total deposit reached 19,476 requests, and 13,887 protection documents were issued.

Despite these achievements, Al -Naeem confirmed the existence of challenges facing the intellectual property sector in the Kingdom, the most prominent of which is the spread of a culture of cloning, and the accelerating digital developments that led to the difficulty And companies are of the importance of registering their intellectual rights, which exposes them to the risks of their loss.
She emphasized that the economic, cultural and social development witnessed in the Kingdom makes the promotion of intellectual property protection a basic necessity to support creators and innovators, and to ensure a fair competitive environment that contributes to achieving sustainable development, and enhancing the Kingdom’s position at the regional and global levels.
