She explained that the Saudi Intellectual Property Commission played an important role in raising the level of awareness of the importance of intellectual property, by organizing its various fields, such as patents, brands, copyright rights, industrial models, plant varieties, and integrated circles, in addition to facilitating registration and protection procedures, and joining The Kingdom to many international agreements and treaties that support this sector.
She pointed out that modern statistics reflect a remarkable development in the field of intellectual property protection, as the total number of copyright requests for the year 2023 reached 1,574 requests, with a total of 962 optional registrations for the author’s right, while the total number of trademark registration requests for 2023 to 45,325 requests, with a total 28,038 registered brands. The total deposit of patent requests was 58,890 requests, and 19,203 protection documents were issued. As for industrial designs requests, the total deposit reached 19,476 requests, and 13,887 protection documents were issued.
