المملكة: The start of the “Second Group” projects that were carried out by the development of circular and main roads in Riyadh

The Royal Commission for the City of Riyadh announced the start of implementing the “Second Group” projects from the program to develop circular and main roads in Riyadh, including (8 projects) at a total cost exceeding (8 billion riyals), as part of the program launched by His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad Bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister and Chairman of the Royal Commission for the City of Riyadh – may God protect him -.
The strengthening of the transportation system in the capital, improving the link between its parts, and preparing it to be a major center in providing sustainable transport and logistical services in the Middle East region, and upgrading the capital to the pioneering position it deserves as one of the major worlds of the world, is consistent with the targets of “Kingdom Vision 2030” programs. .

The “Second Group” projects include the following road program:
1 – The project to develop Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz I Road (the northern part), with a length of more than (6 km), and includes the development of two main intersections, the construction of (3 bridges), a tunnel, and contributes to raising the absorptive capacity of the road to (200 thousand vehicles) per day.
2 – The project to develop the Al -Thumama road axis (the middle part), with a length of (10 km), and includes the development of (5 main intersections) and the construction of (11 bridges) and (5 tunnels), which contributes to raising the absorptive capacity of the road to (200 thousand vehicles) per day. .
3 – The project to develop the Imam Abdullah bin Saud Road, with a length of (9 km), and includes the development of (4 major intersections), the construction of (3 bridges), and two tunnels, which contributes to raising the absorptive capacity of the road to (200 thousand vehicles) per day.
4 – The Dirab Road development project, with a length of (9 km), which includes the development of two main intersections and the construction of (9 bridges), which contributes to raising the capacity of the road to (340 thousand vehicles) per day.

5 – The project to develop the Imam Muslim Road, with a length of (12 km), and includes the development of (4 major intersections) and the construction of (4 bridges), which contributes to raising the absorptive capacity of the road to (200 thousand vehicles) per day, as the road will represent the future extension of the road axis Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz I south.
6 – The project to develop the road network surrounding the King Abdullah Financial Center, with a length of (20 km), and includes the development of (3 intersections) main and the construction of (19 bridges), with the aim of facilitating access to the financial center.
7 – A project to implement the bridge of the King Salman Road with the Abu Bakr Al -Siddiq Road, and includes the implementation of a bridge from King Salman Road in the east to the Abu Bakr Al -Siddiq Road in the north, with the aim of enhancing the flow of traffic and raising its efficiency.
8 – The engineering modification project for crowded “first packages” sites, and includes improving a group of sites that witness traffic congestion.
On the effects of the effects of these projects on the roads and movement, and the neighboring population, the Royal Commission for the city of Riyadh has developed an integrated plan to manage traffic transfers on the roads that will witness the implementation of projects, in partnership with the relevant agencies in the city of Riyadh, with the aim of achieving the largest amount of flow in traffic during The implementation period.
The “Road and Strong Roads Development Program in Riyadh”, God willing, will contribute to keeping pace with the increasing population growth of the city, enhancing the connection of its parts, improving traffic, raising the average movement speed, reducing the time of mobility on the road network, absorbing transnational transportation to the city, and facilitating access to The destinations that witness the implementation of major qualitative projects. It is expected that the duration of the implementation of the “Second Group” projects from the program will take 3 years from the date of the start of implementation.
The Royal Commission for the city of Riyadh announced the start of the implementation of the “first group” projects from the program to develop circular roads and the main roads on August 14, 2024, which included 4 projects at a total cost of 13 billion riyals, provided that the start of the implementation of the subsequent stages of the program will be announced during The coming period, God willing.
