المملكة: Prince of Jazan inaugurates the Tenth Jazan Honey Festival in Eidabi Governorate

His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jazan Region, sponsored this evening, Sunday, the opening ceremony of the “Jazan Festival” in its tenth edition, which is organized by the branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the region in cooperation with Al -Eidabi Governorate, in the Urban Center Square in the governorate, within the activities of the season “Jazan winter 2025”.
His Highness toured the pillars of the specialized honey exhibition, which witnesses the participation of 60 beings, displaying more than 15 types of high -quality honey produced by the region, familiar with various efforts to serve the beekeepers in the region and develop the beekeeping sector and honey production by various specialized departments and associations, as well as the participation of more than 15 government agencies and cooperative association at the exhibition.

Self -sufficiency

His Highness also launched the plan of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture to develop the bee sector in the Kingdom 2025-2030, where the assistant undersecretary of livestock and fish in the Ministry reviewed the ministry, Dr. Ali Al -Sheikhi, the features of the ministry’s plan that aims to raise honey production in the Kingdom to reach 14,000 tons and reach 55% of self -sufficiency, And raising the intermediate productivity of the sector to 6.8 kg per cell per year, and raising self -sufficiency from beehives to 75%, as well as the creation of 5 alliances to manufacture and market bee products.
He explained that the ministry’s plan is launched from the Jazan region as the highest areas of the Kingdom to produce honey, with production quantities of more than 1,000 tons, as the topographic diversity of the region contributed to the region.
The opening ceremony of the festival included poems and folklore shows of the Folklore Band in Al -Aidabi, and the artistic operetta “Jazan Honey”.
The festival, which lasts 10 days, includes various programs and events, and the participation of productive families supported by the Social Development Bank, in addition to workshops and training courses offered by the branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in cooperation with the Beekeepers Association in the region in order to improve the honey production and support industry.
