Plans for a possible evacuation … several earthquakes hitting a volcanic area in Italy

Several earthquakes struck the area surrounding the city of Naples, southern Italy, this morning, Wednesday, according to the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology.
The institute added that the earthquake force amounted to 3.1 degrees on the Richter scale, and fell in the fields of Fleejrian, which is a very volcanic area, in the west of the city around nine in the morning (0800 GMT).
According to initial reports, the earthquake did not cause any injuries or major damage, but it was clearly felt.

The largest active volcano in Europe

Many schools suspended the classroom as a precautionary measure, and the Flegreian fields, the largest active volcano in Europe, were exposed to frequent earthquakes for some time and a yellow warning was issued to them more than ten years ago, which calls for caution.
In May 2024, the area was shaken by the fiercest earthquake that hit the country 40 years ago, and the power of the strongest of these sequenals was 4.4 degrees.
After the May earthquakes, the Italian government introduced new measures to deal with seismic risks, including improving buildings protection, and announced plans for a possible evacuation of the region.
