13 million flights for the public transport system in Ajman, an increase of 17% during 2024
Ajman on February 6/ WAM/ The Ajman Transport Authority announced that it had developed strategic plans aimed at improving the services of the transportation system in Ajman by increasing the number of flights for internal and external public transport bus lines, to enhance effective movement and achieve a sustainable vision of the transportation system in the emirate.
His Excellency Omar Mohamed Lootah, Director General of the Transport Authority, said: The number of flights of the public transport system in Ajman reached 13,386.129 trips, while in 2023 witnessed a number of 11,402,598 trips, with an increase of 17% and attributed the increase to the expansionary authority’s plans that aim to improve the infrastructure And promoting the experience of mass transportation.
He added: The increase in the number of trips comes within a comprehensive plan aimed at providing advanced public transport services that meet the needs of citizens, residents and visitors, and this increase is scheduled to include significant improvements in the public transport network and improve the timing of trips to meet the increasing demand for services.
He explained that the authority added many new trips to public transport bus lines to cover the increasing demand for mass transport services and to improve access to different regions in the country, noting that the number of public transport bus trips during the past year reached 126116 trips, while the number of maritime transport trips during the same period reached the same period 7858 flights, while bus flights grew, and the number of trips reached 120288 flights during the year 2024, with an increase of 4% over 2023, when 116017 trips were recorded.
He pointed out that the number of taxi flights reached 13131710 flights, with a growth rate of 18% for compared to 2023, where the number of taxi flights reached 11152607 flights, and while the number of maritime transport trips “the lesson” reached 6787 during 2024
